This category recognizes the challenges faced with teaching virtually. This award is given to an educator who creatively found the way to overcome adversity, inspiring and excelling at teaching students through remote learning.

This award is given to a woman who has designed and/or conceived innovative technological concepts that are proven through her accomplishments and work in the community.

Tech Leader

The Technology Leader of the Year award recognizes a business information technology professional who is a self-aware, authentic leader and empowers their staff, promotes a collaborative workplace culture, and leverages technology to solve real business problems. Typically senior IT executives, including CXO, CIOs, CTOs, VP/Director of IT, CISO, or similar.

This award recognizes an up and coming individual in the technology sector who by their contributions has proven to be invaluable to their organization.

Project Manager of the Year powered by PMI Buffalo

In honor of excellence in project management the Project Management Institute Buffalo Chapter (PMI Buffalo) is sponsoring the Project Manager of the Year award.  The Project Manager:

  • Worked on a project that primarily occurred during the last year
  • Demonstrated exceptional leadership and communication skills with project stakeholders
  • Demonstrated exceptional strategic, business and technical contribution to the project
  • Demonstrated knowledge and implementation of the PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) methodologies
  • Preferably but not required: PMI (Project Management Institute) member in good standing
  • Preferably by not required: Holds a PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or similar training/ credentials (PMI-ACP, CSM etc.)
