Making Disruptive Technology and Data Security Controls Work FOR Your Business, Not AGAINST It.
On Tuesday morning about 50 I.T. Professionals made their way downtown to the Phillips Lytle Offices in Canalside to
learn from a panel of experts in the field of Data Security & Privacy as well as Crisis Response & Management.
The Panel was made up of the following experts:
Holly Hubert, Founder and CEO - Global Security IQ
Sam Marrazzo, CIO - BNMC and Infotech WNY Board Member
Michael Moskal, Sr. VP / CIO - CUBRC, Inc.
Keith Wojcieszek, Managing Director Cyber Security & Investigations - Kroll
And the moderator was Jennifer Beckage - Partner - Phyllips Lytle
This event is part of the series sponsored by the Buffalo Business First.
Some of the key takeaways from the panel:
- Build a culture of best practices to safe guard your data
- Knowing what is on your network and understanding how it can impact your business
- Ransomware is a problem but phishing is the biggest threat to most organizations
- Perform threat assessments and train staff to understand the threats against your network
- Knowing what data that you are trying to protect helps in the assessments
- Find out what 3rd party tools are being used in your assessments to make sure you know what data is shared with them
- Building a Pre-Incident, Incident Response, and Post Incident procedure is the best way to manage the threats.
Several Board members both past and present were at the event, including Peter Ronca, Pat Finucane, Kim Grant, and Mark Musone.
